IAR’s Drama Club Hosted a Q&A with Actress Maia Wilson

IAR’s Drama Club hosted a Q&A with actress Maia Wilson. Maia Nkenge Wilson voiced Bulda in Disney’s animated film, Frozen. Wilson also has an extensive career as a broadway actress in well-known shows such as The Book of Mormon, Rent, The Color Purple, Shrek the Musical, and 9 to 5: The Musical. Maia shared virtually with members of the Drama Club her identity path as a creative and answered student-led questions on appropriation vs. appreciation and how that is achieved in the theatre. Maia’s words of wisdom will serve Drama Club members preparing to perform Moana on stage this year. Her words will also help IAR students during their upcoming advisory lessons as they discuss showing appreciation and respect for cultures.
