I Voted – Sticker Contest

West Woods Upper Elementary School

Grade 6 students have been learning about the United States Constitution in social studies. In addition to learning about the history of this founding document, they are also studying its structure and function. They are exploring the rights it protects and the responsibilities of living in a representative democracy.

To engage in the 2024 Election, students participated in an “I Voted” sticker contest in collaboration with the Farmington Registrar of Voters Office. They learned about the role of our local registrars in the election process. Students designed stickers to promote civic pride on Election Day. Each homeroom held an election to select the semifinalist stickers.

Elected town and state officials representing Farmington served on a judging panel and selected one sticker to be printed and distributed on Election Day at all of the Farmington polling places. The semifinalist designs will also be posted at polling stations on Election Day.

Farmington Public Schools are delayed two hours due to inclement weather. No morning preschool. Farmington EXCL will open at its standard locations at 8 am.
