Fall 2023 Kindergarten Literacy Workshop

Kindergarten Parents learned about the Kindergarten literacy curriculum at a parent/child workshop offered by the district Family Engagement Facilitator. Parents learned about the different parts of literacy instruction, our new Fundations program, end-of-year expectations, and the importance of nightly reading. Meanwhile, children played literacy games and activities with seven Farmington High School student volunteers. Once again families left with a bag of materials and books to read at home. Parents have commented how helpful these workshops have been to learn how to support their child’s learning at home.
