Press Release – Interim Asst. Superintendent for Finance and Operations

Dan Zittoun, current Principal of Hall High School in West Hartford, has accepted the
Interim Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations position in Farmington
effective August 19, 2024. He will bring a depth of experience and expertise in the areas
of school finance management, facilities, security, technology, transportation,
interscholastic athletics and human resources to the position of Assistant
Superintendent of Finance and Operations in Farmington. He has led an award-winning
and highly ranked comprehensive high school for the past eleven years. Given his
experience as an elementary educator, district-wide teacher leader and long-time high
school administrator, this is an especially important time to welcome Dan Zittoun due to
the opening of our new Farmington High School facility, the transition to a new bus
company as well as several other important and timely finance and operations projects.

As a former teacher, instructional technology specialist, and Assistant Principal for
fifteen years within the Madison Public Schools and more recently Principal of Hall High
School in West Hartford for the past eleven years, he will provide a seamless leadership
transition related to this important district-level position. Dan Zittoun is an outstanding
leader who is relationship focused and an individual who is deeply committed to
excellence in all aspects of his leadership work. His strong work ethic, enthusiasm,
integrity and care are hallmarks of his leadership and we are fortunate to have such an
accomplished and compassionate leader join our exceptional team of faculty, staff and
administrators. As a highly visible leader, you should expect to see him on-site in
schools connecting with and supporting all members of the Farmington Public Schools.
He is eager to become a part of all aspects of our school district community.

Upon accepting the position of Interim Assistant Superintendent of Finance and
Operation, Dan Zittoun shared, “I am honored to join the Farmington Public Schools as

long history of educational excellence and I was drawn to the opportunity to be part of a
dynamic community of students, educators, and families. I am eager to get started in supporting Farmington’s Vision of the Global Citizen for all students and within my role as Interim Superintendent of Finance and Operations.”

Brief Bio:
Dan Zittoun received his Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of Connecticut. In addition, he received a Sixth Year degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University and his Superintendent of Schools certification from Central Connecticut State University. He has served as an elementary teacher, instructional technology specialist and Assistant Principal in the Madison Public Schools. In addition, he has served as the long-time Principal of Hall High School in West Hartford for the past eleven years.

Farmington Public Schools are delayed two hours due to inclement weather. No morning preschool. Farmington EXCL will open at its standard locations at 8 am.
